DC Kargil takes stock of public grievances

KARGIL, July 2: The Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today held a Public Darbar at Dak Bungalow Mulbek in Shargole block of district Kargil where various delegations of the area apprised him of their various issues.
Councilor, LAHDA Kargil, Mohammad Ali and a team of district administration including Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Sharkar Chiktan, and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil, Nambardars, prominent citizens of block Shargole and number of people attended the Darbar.
The main demands presented before the DC were the provision of availability of adequate staff in all PHCs, educational institutions, improvement in regular drinking water supply, power supply, opening of handicraft centre and veterinary centre in Shargole block besides toilet facilities.
Responding to the demands, the DC said that the district administration is working hard to mitigate the problems if any faced by the local population.
The DC directed for immediate construction of two Community Toilet Blocks in Mulbek area. He also directed the SDM to organize awareness camp in Shargole block to make general public aware of the programmes and schemes launched by the Government for the welfare of the people so that a maximum lot will be benefited.
Regarding damage to crops due to drought in the area, the DC instructed the revenue authorities to conduct on the spot visit of all drought-hit areas including Kustay and Tingdoo villages and submit a detailed report in this regard. He also instructed the concerned to take immediate steps for repairs and renovation of all irrigation khuls.
Taking stock of education sector in the block, the DC directed the concerned to submit a proposal with regard to upgradation of Government High School, Wakha. He also asked them to fill all the vacant posts in education institutions of the area.
Responding the demand of construction of Mulbek-Gumpa road, Vikas Kundal said that the road has already been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore and the work on the project will be started soon.
During the tour, the DC distributed job cards among the beneficiaries of Shargole block at DongldongMulbek.
