JAMMU, Nov 12: Taking cognizance of a video circulated on social media wherein Accounts Assistant (Panchayat) candidates in an examination centre of Jammu alleged irregularities/delayed providing of question paper, J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) has appealed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu to initiate necessary disciplinary action against the invigilator.
“The whole incident occurred as the invigilator at that specific centre left his duties midway without informing the authorities,” said Sachin Jamwal, Secretary, JKSSB, Jammu. However, Jamwal also added that legal action will be initiated against such persons involved in circulating the video wherein baseless and motivated allegations were made.
Cautioning the gullible candidates against getting misled by some unscrupulous elements spreading misinformation through such video, JKSSB clarified that a multilayered structure for supervision was established by DC Jammu for each centre by appointing Centre Observer and Centre Superintendent, in addition to Magistrate.
“For smooth conduct of examination, approximately 8000 invigilators were appointed by District Administration, one General Observer by the General Administration Department, one officer was appointed by JKSSB in each district and flying squads were deployed by the DCs on the day of examination and continuous monitoring of examination was done by J&K SSB and District Administration by establishment of Control Rooms at the Divisional and District Level respectively, leaving no chance for any irregularity in exams” the Jamwal said.
“The examination was conducted smoothly across 750 examination centres set up in all the districts of UT of J&K. No reports of any malpractice or unfair means was received from Centre Observers, District Observers, Flying Squads or District Administration,” Jamwal claimed and added that out of 1,90,0048 applicants, around 1.62 lakh candidates appeared in the written examination which was conducted fairly, smoothly and transparently.
