DC Jammu listens public grievances at Jourian

JAMMU, Nov 25: To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa today presided over a simple but impressive programme here at Jourian in which delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised her about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.
The main issues highlighted during the programme were related to irregular supply of water and electricity, Revenue, custodian land and other issues like road connectivity, public transport, cleanliness and sanitation of the area etc.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the delegations and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early and quality redressal of their genuine grievances. She assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public services delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.
She also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets under different schemes, ensuring early delivery of the benefits to the rural masses.
DDC Member Bhalwal Brahmana, Bharat Bhushan Bral; Chairman Municipal Committee Jourian Madal Lal; SDM, Akhil Sadorta; Tehsildar, Samridhi Sharma; BDO, along with block level officers, PRI members and a large number of people were present at the program.
