UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: In wake of weather predictions by the Meteorology Department, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Yasha Mudgal has issued warning as the climate is likely to deteriorate from February 2 in avalanche prone areas and higher reaches of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner has advised the people not to venture in avalanche-prone areas during the period, besides cleaning snow from roof tops of the houses and bunkers to avoid any untoward incident. She also advised people to temporarily evacuate those locations which are under the line of avalanche.
She has also issued directions to the concerned officers to activate their men and machinery and to ensure that there is no disruption of essential services, power supply, water supply, health care services etc and there is no shortage of food grains and kerosene oil in the district.
