RAMBAN, Oct 5: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Bashir Ahmed Dar reviewed status of progress with regard to evictions from encroached lands, compensation of acquired lands under Land Acquisition Act, SDRF and functioning of new administrative units in a meeting held here today.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Babu Ram, ACR, Vivek Puri, SDMs, Tehsildars and NTs and other officers of the concerned department.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues relating to land encroachments, compensation for acquired lands and at arriving solutions keeping in view various problems of local people. Tehsildars informed the chair that regular efforts have been made to speed up the process of evictions of illegal encroachment from State land as well as Kacharai land.
DC directed the concerned officers that there is dire need of evicting State land because it is the property of state which may be exploited for generating income or any other purpose. He also emphasised upon officers to complete the documents of the already acquired land and compensation to those whose land has been acquired for roads.
He stressed upon the officers to work hard for providing services to the people at the their door step. He also directed the Tehsildars to speed up the process of registering beneficiaries under National Population Register programme and voter lists and no person be left out in this dual enrolment.
DC also emphasised upon the officers that before the start of every month targets be fixed in order to assess the monthly progress thereby deriving good results.
