DC discusses I-Day arrangements

JAMMU July 11: In order to the discuss the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day 2016, a meeting of district officers of different departments was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, here today.
It was informed in the meeting that the main function would be held at Mini Stadium Parade where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolor and take salute at the march past contingents drawn from Police, Army, and Educational Institutions . Cultural programme would also be presented by the students of various educational institutions during the function.
Threadbare discussions were also held regarding arrangements of security, seating barricading, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first aid, PAS, deployment of buses and fire tenders etc.
The DDC directed the engineers of R&B, PHE & PDD to ensure effective arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water supply besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function.
JMC authorities were asked to ensure proper cleanliness of the venue and keep adequate number of mobile toilet vans stationed during the rehearsal days and on the main event. Health Department has been directed to deploy mobile vans with staff and medicines at function site. District and traffic police would make adequate security and traffic regulation on the day.
DC stressed upon the officers of various departments to work in close coordination so that all arrangements required for the national function are ensured well in time.
