JAMMU, July 10: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh today discussed the arrangements for Independence Day celebration at an officers meeting.
The meeting was attended by ADC Jammu Piyush Singla, Additional DC Risat Kohli, SSP Jammu Rajeev Pandey, ACG, Shehnaz Chowdhary, SSP Traffic Mohan Lal, SSP Security Jammu Ramesh K. Angral, SDM Khour Rakesh Kumar, SDM Chowki Choura Jagdish Singh, SDM Akhnoor Suresh Sharma, Deputy Director Information (PR) Afshan Masood, RTO Jammu, A. K. Khajuria, Director Doordarshan Anjali Sharma, DHO Jammu Dr. Sanjay Turki, Chief Education Officer Jammu, XEns of PDD and PHE besides senior officers from School Education, Youth Services and Sports, Fire Services, Health, JMC, R&B, Forest and Traffic.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues with regard to seating arrangements, barricading, invitation of guests, refreshment to school children, transport, electricity, drinking water, security, march past, medicare, face-lifting, cultural items etc.
It was informed that a colorful cultural programme will be presented by the school children on the occasion. The Fire Services Department was asked to ensure availability of sufficient number of fire tenders to meet any eventuality. The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness at the venue, besides illumination of roads, as well as Government buildings.
The DDC directed the traffic authorities for taking effective measures for smooth plying of traffic and making special parking arrangements for VVIP vehicles. He also instructed the health authorities for making available ambulance and other medical facilities at the venue. The Police and Traffic Departments were asked to make security and traffic arrangements for the convenience of general public.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the officers of various departments to work in close coordination so that all arrangements required for the conduct of National function are ensured well in time.
