DC chairs public contact prog, assures redressal of issues

SRINAGAR, June 11: District Administration Kupwara today conducted a public contact programme at Gugloosa Payeen under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir.
DDC was accompanied by CMO Kupwara, CEO Kupwara, Executive Engineer R&B Kupwara, Executive Engineer I&FC Division Kupwara, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kupwara, DSWO Kupwara, Assistant Director CA&PD Kupwara, Tehsildar Trehgam, public representatives and prominent citizens of Gugloosa.
During the programme, the residents highlighted the issues pertaining to drinking water, electricity, improvement in developmental activities, repair and renovation of roads, irrigation facilities for agriculture sector, removal of illegal encroachment on Kachariee/State land, construction of flood protection bund on Nallah Kehmil near Gugloosa, improvement of HT/ LT net work especially the 11 KV line from Tikker to Gugloosa.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC assured the public that their grievances and genuine demands will be addressed after proper scrutiny within stipulated time frame, while some demands of urgent nature were referred to the concerned departments for immediate redressal.
DC directed Tehsildar Trehgam to remove all illegal encroachments from State land and furnish action taken report at an earliest. Executive Engineer I&FC was directed to gear up the pace of work on war footing basis to avoid further losses to agriculture land and EE I&FC was directed to prepare DPR under convergence mode with MGNREGA in collaboration with RDD for construction of flood protection bund on Nallah Kehmil.
He also directed Executive Engineer PDD Kupwara to take immediate measures for improvement of LT/HT network on immediate basis and also directed Xen PHE Division Kupwara to take immediate measures for providing portable water supply to the residents of Gulgoosa Payeen and furnish action taken report with 15 days.
Meanwhile the youth of the area raised the demand for development of play ground at Gugloosa, and DDC gave on spot directions to BDO Trehgam and Tehsildar Trehgam to identify the land for development of ground.
