POONCH, June 6: Deputy Commissioner Poonch and local Brigade Commander laid foundation stone of a community hall at border village Degwar near Poonch today.
The village Degwar in Poonch has been adopted by the Army. This community hall is being constructed under the Border Area Development Project (BADP). A large number of locals of the area also witnessed the occasion.
Degwar is a border area village of Poonch which is being transformed by Army and the local battalion at Garhi. The unit has initiated several other development projects and activities for the locals there.
The Commander and Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik as part of ‘Swach Bharat Mission’ also gave away cheques to individuals who had constructed latrine in their houses.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander congratulated the residents of Degwar for becoming such an integral part of the development process and expressed satisfaction towards other activities being planned by the Army in conjunction with the civil administration.
