DC assures Councilors of early decision

JAMMU, Mar 15: All Councilors of National Conference and Islamia School today formally submitted a no-confidence motion against Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil to Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, who happened to be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Council.
The Councilors had yesterday gone to the office of the DC Kargil but couldn’t meet him as he was not present there. They had submitted the no-confidence motion to a clerk in the office of the DC in the presence of two police officers of Kargil.
Official sources said the DC assured the Councilors that he would examine the LAHDC Act and convey his decision on no-confidence motion to them within two to three days.
Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jan, Councilor of LAHDC Kargil and vice president, youth wing of Islamia School said the Councilors of NC, Islamia School and Anjuman Sahab-e-Zaman would wait for the decision of the DC.
He said they would form an expert committee to take a decision on fielding an independent candidate for Ladakh Lok Sabha seat.
