DB’s directive in Rs 27.60 cr scam in Housing Board

JAMMU, July 4: In the much publicized Rs 27.60 crore scam in J&K Housing Board, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar today granted two weeks time for filing compliance to the order dated May 26, 2017 whereby Senior Additional Advocate General S S Nanda was directed to file Action Taken Report (ATR).
The direction was passed in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) titled Sheikh Mohd. Shafi Versus Union of India seeking prosecution of tainted bureaucrats under J&K Prevention of Corruption Act. The PIL further seeks sanction in corruption cases in the light of law laid down by the Apex Court in case titled Subramanian Swamy V/s Dr Manmohan Singh.
