DBPS urges LG to issue order for performing all official work in Hindi

JAMMU, Feb 14: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) Chanakya Chowk today appealed the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to come out with executive order for performing all official and administrative work in Hindi.
“Since erstwhile J&K state has now become Union Territory, all administrative and official meetings and issuance of further orders should be in Hindi language” said Ved Parkash Sharma president DBPS while addressing a meeting with office bearers here.
He said that in Delhi and Chandigarh, long established as Union Territories, the official work is performed in Hindi. He further said that the people of J&K were always with the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’ every bold decision for speeding up development activities, strengthening democracy at grassroots level and ensuring accountability and good governance.
Senior member of the Sabha Advocate P C Sharma said that now Dogri/Hindi can also be used as medium language in the official documents/work in UT. He said these languages can be easily understood by every citizen of the UT.
Prominent social activist B S Jamwal said that inclusion of Dogri/Hindi etc in list of official languages is not only a fulfillment of long pending demand, but also in keeping with the spirit of equality.
Senior BJP leader Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma came out with suggestion to increase the circle of Sanskrit language and to double the efforts to popularize the same. He appealed the community members to impose self-motivated guest control on marriages and other functions
Sabha vice-president Virendar Mohan Magotra and many others were also present. They paid rich tributes to Bhagwan Parshuram as well as Acharya Chanakya.
