JAMMU, Apr 18: A two-day religious program is being organized by the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) on April 27 to celebrate Bhagwan Parsuram Jayanti.
Addressing a press conference, president of the DBPS, Ved Parkash Sharma, told media persons that the religious program will commence on April 27 with Shobha Yatra, which will conclude on April 28 with traditional Yagya, Havan and Poojan of Bhagwan Parsuram ji Maharaj in the premises of Sabha.
“The Shobha Yatra will be taken out at 2 PM on April 27 from Sabha premises. After passing through Moti Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Shaheedi Chowk, Ragunath Bazar and Shalamar Road, the Shobha Yatra will culminate at Chanakya Chowk, Parade”, he said.
Sharma informed that the Sabha has invited applications from the young Hindu boys to get yagyopaveet sanskar performed. He said that the application for the purpose should reach at the office of DBPS Parade before April 25.
He extended invitation to people from all walks of life to participate in the function to seek blessings of Lord Parsuram Ji and urged the local administration to provide necessary logistics like security, cleanliness, drinking water and uninterrupted power supply for the religious function.
