DBPS demands naming Srinagar Airport after Major Som Nath

JAMMU, Sept 27: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) here today demanded naming the Srinagar Airport after Indo-Pak war hero Shaheed Major Som Nath Sharma who laid his life defending Srinagar Airport from the tribal attack backed by Pakistan army on November 3, 1947.
Addressing a meeting Ved Parkash Sharma, President DBPS said Major Sharma is pride for the nation and most of his family has served Indian Army thereby setting an example.
He also said that youth should take inspiration from the sacrifices of brave soldiers and stand by our army and para-military forces to give befitting reply to Pakistan.
Describing Major Sharma as a great war hero of India, former DC B.S Jamwal and senior member of the Sabha P.C Sharma said that real tribute to Major Sharma will be taking pledge to remain prepared to face challenges for the unity and integrity of the nation.
Advocate D.N Pangotra, Pt V.M Magotra, N.C Sharma, M.L Sharma, Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, Som Nath Sharma, Satya Nand Sharma, Subash Shastri, Shiv Ram, Shiv Charn Dass, Sat Pal Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Jagan Nath, Prem Balotra, Dr. Som Dutt Magotra, S.S Baru, K.L Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Jia Lal Sharma, Sunil Sharma and others also supported the demand.
