DB seeks time-frame for completion of infra for Saddal villagers

JAMMU, June 17: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the displaced inhabitants of village Saddal in tehsil Mongri of Udhampur district, which was devastated due to landslide in the year 2014, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul has sought time-line for the completion of infrastructure like roads, water and electricity.
After hearing Advocate Deepika Mahajan for the PIL whereas AAG Aseem Sawhney for the UT, Division Bench observed , “a status report dated 12th June 2020 has been filed by Dr Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur informing that by an order dated 30th April 2020, land of five marlas each on lease has been granted to 132 families identified by the Naib Tehsildar, Udhampur”.
Accordingly, the DB sought the time-frame for completion of infrastructure before next date of hearing.
