JAMMU, Aug 27: A letter written to Chief Justice of State High Court by the general public of Jeevan Nagar for de-silting and cleaning of Nallah (Landoi Choi) between Jeevan Nagar and Narwal Pain has been treated as Public Interest Litigation (PIL) with the Division Bench comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat arraying Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board and Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation as respondents and issuing them notice returnable within two weeks.
In the letter, it has been mentioned that nallah which was constructed through ERA few years back was not de-silted and was a great threat to people, who are residing on either side of nallah.
