JAMMU, Sept 26: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta today disposed of the PIL seeking a direction to the respondents to include Bhaderwahi language in the notice invitation proposal for commissioning programmes to be telecast on DD Kashir.
The respondents in their reply submitted that vide order dated 26-12-2001, the limited purpose was served by including the Bhaderwahi dialect in commissioning and acquisition. The notification issued from DD Kashir in June & July 2017 was about invitation of programmes in different languages like Kashmiri, Dogri and Laddakhi etc. However, the Bhaderwahi dialect was not mentioned therein.
After going through the reply, DB observed, “ DD is telecasting programmes in Bhaderwahi dialect from DDK Jammu thrice a month in  order to serve the purpose in accordance with the Judgment passed by the  High Court dated 26-12-2001”, adding “in view of the stand taken by the respondents it is evident that the Bhaderwahi is a dialect and not a language.”
Accordingly, DB disposed of the petition.
