PIL regarding opening of Mugal Road for public

JAMMU, June 1: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Azhar Usman Khan seeking a direction for reopening of the Mughal Road for the public at large, Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul today directed the Union Territory Government to take a conscious decision on the representation in case the same is filed by the petitioner.
After hearing Advocate Muzaffar Khan for the PIL, the DB directed the petitioner to submit a representation to the UT Government ventilating all his grievances with regard to the Mughal Road and in case any such representation is filed within two weeks from today, the UT Government shall take a conscious decision on it in accordance with law most expeditiously.
During the course of hearing, Advocate General DC Raina appearing for the UT administration submitted that a copy of the writ petition may be provided to him and that he will immediately respond to all the queries raised in the petition.
Upon hearing Advocate General, Division Bench directed counsel for the petitioner to supply a copy of the writ petition to the office of the Advocate General by tomorrow. DB also directed AG to obtain instructions and file response to the petition within a period of one month.
