Construction of complex on forest land by ex-Minister

JAMMU, Feb 7: In a petition seeking registration of FIR against ex-BJP Cabinet Minister Abdul Gani Kohli and others for alleged encroachment of 10 kanals forest land at Nowabad Sunjwan, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan has sought map of the Bahu Forest Range.
After hearing petitioner Advocate Ankur Sharma, the DB observed, “respondents have failed to comply with order dated 11th April, 2017whereby court had directed respondents to provide the map of the area in question clearly showing Khasra No.356 as also Khasra No.264”, adding “counsel appearing for the Forest Department was under direction to place on record any notification with regard to the Bahu Forest Range indicating the extent of the forest”.
Accordingly, DB directed respondents that the same shall be positively complied within two weeks from today.
