JAMMU, Oct 3: In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation (PIL) highlighting alleged hushing up of Chatta Sunjwan land scam, Division Bench of State comprising First Puisne Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice B S Walia today directed Senior AAG Seema Shekhar to take-up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Jammu with regard to non-furnishing of the original record as demanded by Crime Branch in the ongoing probe into the scam.
Division Bench further directed that the Senior AAG will ensure that the entire record will be made available to the Crime Branch by or before October 17, 2016 and in this regard Tehsildar Bahu and the concerned field revenue agency will provide necessary assistance.
Earlier, when the PIL came-up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed appearing for the petitioner drew the attention of the court towards the latest status report filed by Crime Branch wherein it has expressed its inability to complete the probe in view of the non-cooperative attitude of Revenue Department by not providing the records required for completion of the inquiry despite repeated reminders.
