JAMMU, Mar 2: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Smile Social Youth Club through its President Matloob Saleem Qureshi, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur today directed Chief Secretary to take immediate steps for release of Rs 628.11 lakh for establishment of laboratory for swine flu test at Jammu.
After hearing Advocate Navneet Dubey appearing for the PIL whereas AAG HA Siddiqui for the State, DB observed, “the status report indicates that a letter was issued by Joint Director (P&S) Health and Medical Education Department for release of funds for the proposed project”.
“Since the amount involved is Rs 628.11 lakh, this can be initially spent by the State itself subject to reimbursement from Central Govt”, the DB said and directed Chief Secretary to take immediate steps for release of amount for establishment of laboratory.
