JAMMU, Nov 1: In the Public Interest Litigation seeking directions to the State for protection of Mansar and Surinsar lakes, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharma took serious note of not enough cooperation shown by the official respondents with their counsel till date and sought proper response.
Division Bench made it clear that in case appropriate response/reply is not submitted by the next date of hearing or proper assistance is not rendered in the present PIL proceedings, a serious view will be taken. Division Bench also directed Secretary Tourism to file a detailed affidavit in the present PIL within a period of three weeks.
In the PIL filed by Advocate Sumit Nayyar, it has been submitted that the beauty and natural splendor of Mansar and Surinsar lakes can be compared with the magnificence of Dal and Nagin lakes of Srinagar.
