DB Corp Q2 Net declines 13% to Rs 59.16 crore

NEW DELHI, Oct 15:  Media firm DB Corp today reported 13.12 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 59.16 crore during the second quarter ended September 30, 2015 due to higher tax expense.
The company had posted net profit of Rs 68.10 crore in the July-September period of the previous fiscal 2013-14, DB Corp said in a BSE filing.
Net sales of the company also declined marginally by 0.08 per cent to Rs 471.70 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 472.09 crore in the year-ago period.
Total advertising revenue declined by 4.90 per cent to Rs 343.3 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 361 crore in the same period of the last fiscal, the company said.
Revenue from printing and publishing of newspaper and periodicals also declined 1.57 per cent to Rs 442.23 crore in the second quarter of financial year 2015-16 as against Rs 449.32 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
However, revenue from radio segment was up by 5.22 per cent during the quarter to Rs 23.96 crore as against Rs 22.77 crore in the same period last fiscal.
DB Corp’s consolidated net profit for the first half of 2015-16 was also down 14.71 per cent to Rs 125.57 crore as against Rs 147.23 crore in same period of last fiscal.
Net sales during the first half of the current fiscal were also down 1.67 per cent to Rs 938.15 crore as against Rs 954.17 crore a year ago.
DB Corp publishes six newspapers in Hindi, Gujarati, English and Marathi. They include Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar and Saurashtra Samachar. It has also presence in the FM Radio segment through ‘My FM’.
