RS PURA, Oct 9: A large rally was held today at Satrayan in Suchetgarh area of RS Pura by the people, to felicitate Rajinder Singh Chib, former minister, for his nomination as general secretary of Democratic Azad Party, by Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman of the DAP.
Chib was received at RS Pura and escorted to the venue of the meeting in a mega motor cycle rally consisting of a large number of workers of the Democratic Azad Party.
While addressing the gathering, Chib extended gratitude to Azad, for his nomination as general secretary and assured him that he will discharge his duties, to the best of his ability in interest of the party and people of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. He elaborated at length the agenda of the DAP which includes, restoration of statehood, protection of land and jobs of the local people.
Chib further added that his party will work for the employment to the youth, welfare of Kisans, labour class, weaker sections and those living in far-flung and Kandi areas of the region. He spoke about the corruption prevailing in the UT and said that our party will ensure a corruption-free system. Chib also said that the DAP will provide 50% reservation to youth and women.
He said that the DAP is having a total independent agenda and not aligned with any political party. The DAP will have no alliance with any party before or after elections. He urged upon the Govt to hold Assembly elections in the UT at the earliest and also restore the statehood status without any more delay.
When Chib asked for their support, all those who were present over there assured their support to Ghulam Nabi Azad and his party. The speakers in general, spoke about the excellent performance of Azad, while he was heading the state as Chief Minister. They all described his tenure a golden period in the history of the Jammu and Kashmir State.
The rally was addressed by a large number of Sarpanchs, Panchs and youth leaders of the party.
