SAMBA, May 26: The locals of Samba, Ward Number 7 Mandi Dansala protested against the PHE Department today alleging that water shortages has been brewing for the past one month. Protest was led by Ravinder Singh Lovely, Sarpanch of Kehli Mandi.
Local women Kamla Devi, Santosh Devi, Prakasho Devi, Poonam Devi and Chanchala Devi who took part in the protest said that they have been craving for drinking water in this scorching heat for the last one month but neither the district administration nor the PHE Department is looking into the problem. They said that the PHE Department Samba has been several times requested to restore the supply of water, but every time the Department officials give a false assurance only.
The Sarpanch reiterated the demand of the people to supply water to the people and warned agitation in case Department failed to concede the demand.
