Dangri J&K Bank branch catches fire

RAJOURI, June 23: Dangri branch of the J&K Bank caught fire during mid day today, causing some damage to bank record, electronic gadgets and furniture.
Official sources said that due to suspected short- circuit, Dangri branch of the J&K Bank at Rajouri, on Rajouri-Kalakote Road caught sudden fire at around 12 noon today. The people of the area noticed smoke coming out of the widows and main door , Being Sunday, the branch was closed today.
The people of the area raised alarm and police party along with Fire tenders reached the spot after some time. The main entrance was broke opened and the rescue operation was started. However, some record, furniture and computers systems were damaged in the fire incident. The fire was contained to spread in the adjoining area. The chest containing cash remained unharmed. The police has taken cognizance.
