Dangal become Highest Foreign Grosser in China, ousts Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2

NEW DELHI, May 12:  Continuing on its strong run in China, Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Dangal’ has surpassed the earnings of Hollywood’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ to earn the spot of Number 1 foreign film in China, trade experts said. ”@aamir_khan ‘s #Dangal moves to No.1 in #China ahead of #GUARDIANSOFTHEGALAXY2 on Day 6.. A Proud Moment for #IndianCinema,” trade analyst Ramesh Bala said.  ‘Dangal’, which released in China last week, took a bumper opening in the country. The film’s total earnings till Wednesday were 23.04 million dollars (Rs 148.67 crore). Aamir has received an enthusiastic welcome on his arrival in China for the film’s premiere last week, Aamir seems to have become the favourite of the Chinese audience as his last release ‘PK’ too had hit a century there back in 2015.  ‘Dangal’ has broken the record of ‘PK’ as it managed to go past the Rs 100 crore mark in just five days. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is based on the tale of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, essayed by Aamir. The sports drama also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Aparshakti Khurana and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles. (AGENCIES)
