Daily wagers of Sericulture Deptt stage protest

BILLAWAR, Nov 18: The daily rated workers of  Sericulture Department  today staged protest dharna at Mandli in district Kathua.
The protesting workers were demanding increasing their wages to Rs 4500 per month as per High Court   directions.  Ishar Dass Sangra, president Low Paid Employees Federation Billawar was leading the protest.  The speakers during the protest dharna alleged that Government  was causing  delay in paying the pending wages of the workers  as a result their families were  facing hardships.  They demanded that their wages be paid in time and  the rate of wages be hiked as  per the court orders.
Later, they moved to the office of SDM BIllawar and submitted a memorandum for the Chief Minister, projecting their demands.
