JAMMU, Apr 10: Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of J.S Babli, Association president and discussed the problems due to cessation of in-house as well as outdoor productions of Doordarshan Kendra Jammu.
Speaking in the meeting Association members said that Doordarshan authorities at Delhi have deliberately curtailed the budget of Doordarshan Kendra Jammu which has affected the production of Drama serials as well as other productions of local cultural importance and interest.
Speaking in the meeting Association president Babli said this is the right time to strike the target when nation is in election process.
He appealed to the artists community especially approved drama artists to show solidarity and unity to mitigate their sufferings, hardship and frustration, while casting their valuable vote only to the candidate and party who will highlight, project and fight for the cause of their demands at New Delhi.
A handout stated that the Association is demanding separate ‘Duggar Channel’ for Jammu region since 1999 and sanctioning of liberal funds for Doordarshan Kendra Jammu with budget at par with other Kendras of the nation.
The meeting was attended by Madan Rangila, Association Vice President; Janak Khajuria, Cashier; Sandesh Vir, General Secretary; B.M Dubey, Subash Jamwal and Harbans Sharma.
