DADAA delegation meets Academy Secretary with demands

JAMMU, Mar 2: A delegation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) here today called on Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and submitted him a charter of their demands.
The delegation was led by DADAA president, J.S Babli and the demands raised by delegation members included release of financial assistance as per Academy rules in favour of artists who are above the age of 55 years as the same is pending for the last four years.
Other demand included hike in the fee of artists.
DADAA president said that a separate canteen for artists should be provided at Academy premises and payments of artists should be made immediately after completion of their works.
The delegation also demanded regular camps for fine arts and artists regarding painting and sculpture making.
The delegation comprised of Madan Rangila, vice president; Sandeshvir, general secretary; Janak Khajuria and Harbans Sharma.
The Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages assured the delegation to consider the demands on priority in the interest of artists’ fraternity.
