JAMMU, Apr 6: Cyber Awareness programmes were observed at different Police Stations of District Jammu.
Giving details, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said that nearly 1800 students from 24 different schools of District Jammu actively participated in the event.
He further added that the day was observed following all the COVID-19 related guidelines issued by the Centre and the UT Government.
Various topics related to cyber awareness were discussed. Some of the key points discussed in the events were awareness about what cybercrime is, types of cybercrimes such as hacking, credit card fraud, virus dissemination, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, cyber threatening, cyber defamation, child pornography, financial crimes, etc, categories of cybercrimes such as crime against persons, crime against property and crime against Government and preventions against cybercrime.
Moreover, youths were advised not to share their OTPs of various credit cards, ATMs etc. falling prey to duping methods.
Furthermore, youths were encouraged to change passwords frequently, uninstall unnecessary softwares, report cybercrime to the nearest police stations as quickly as possible, Install JK E-COP application on their mobile phones, Report crime on cybercrime portal, approach to the concerned bank to freeze their account in case of any bank related frauds etc.
