JAMMU, Jan 31: The reconstituted Central Working Committee (CWC) of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president, DSS, here today.
The working committee reviewed the various resolutions and discussions held previously and outcome of these resolutions. The main issues raised in the past included the demand of stopping six monthly move of Darbar to avoid wasteful expenditure and inconvenience to employees of Jammu region, saving and proper maintenance of Dogra heritage and cultural sites in the J&K State, maintenance and development of tourist and religious/pilgrim centers of Jammu and ensure participation of Dogra leaders for the solution of any issues affecting the State.
It was felt with concern by the members of the CWC that despite raising these issues several times through resolutions and representations to the concerned authorities including the Governor, no action has been forthcoming from the Government agencies. The working committee condemned the negative and inept attitude of the Government especially in relation to the maintenance and saving of Dogra cultural and heritage sites and asked the concerned authorities and Governor to pay immediate attention to the demands raised by DSS.
The CWC members expressed great concern and ridiculed the practice of closing of main road by the administration from Ranbireshwar Temple to Zanana Park for public use after the Darbar Move to Jammu. It was felt that this causes immense hardship and inconvenience to the general public and the visitors from outside the State. It was resolved that a resolution be presented to Governor to stop this practice forthwith.
Among others present were Dr NK Dogra, Colonel (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, Prem Sagar Gupta, general secretary, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Incharge Youth Wing DSS, Brigadier (Retd) MS Jamwal, Incharge Press/Publicity, etc.
