CWC member slapped by HP woman cop

SHIMLA:Congress Working Committee member and Congress legislator from Dalhouise Asha Kumari was slapped by a woman cop publicly while trying to enter Congress head office Rajeev Bhavan here on Friday to attend the review meeting.

Ms Kumari reportedly tried to enter the party office gate to attend Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s election review meeting.

The incident occurred when police was trying to manage the crowd stopping them to enter the premises however in the spur of moment Ms Kumari could not show the entry pass and she was push back by women constables.

Ms Kumari was seen in the video latter slapping the woman cop who also rebut in the same way and gave a slap on the face of the Congress legislator publicly.

Former Social Justice and Women empowerment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil and former Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri were also on the spot when the incident occurred.

However all other tried to calm down the scuffle between the two however after some time video of the scuffle went viral on the social media.

Mr Gandhi who is a Special Protection Group (SPG) protectee, arrived at Jubberhati airport here in the morning and state police have deployed many-layered security to him and no one was allowed around Mr Gandhi without having entry pass.

Congress MLAs Asha Kumari, Mukesh Agnihotri and Shandil have to wait outside the office for some time as they did not have entry pass for the review meeting.

The incident reportedly happened due to misunderstanding though the state police is likely to take action against the cop for misbehaving with the senior legislators.

Another post on the social media also showed that State Youth Congress President and newly elected member of assembly Vikaramaditya Singh was not allowed by the SPG to enter in the Congress meeting. (agencies)
