JAMMU, Nov 15: Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), P L Gupta today reviewed the functioning of the Vigilance Organization with the officers in a meeting convened here today.
Vigilance Commissioner, Gazanffar Hussain, Director Vigilance Organization, S. J. M. Gillani, Secretary SVC, T K Bhat, Director Prosecution SVO Mohammad Ashraf, AIG (P) Javid Matto, Deputy Director Prosecution Mahesh Kumar and other senior officers of SVC attended the meeting.
Director Vigilance briefed the meeting about the overall functioning and progress of cases pending with the organization. Priorities along with the achievements of the organization were also discussed during the meeting.
CVC reviewed year-wise registration of cases along with their status. He asked the officers to conduct joint surprise checks on regular basis so that a strong monitoring mechanism would be developed for strengthening the organization. Status of cases pending in anti corruption courts in various districts of the State was also reviewed in the meeting.
Calling for dedicated efforts for ensuring good governance and effective public grievance redressal system, the CVC said that Vigilance Organization should expedite the case disposal process and follow-up with Government about pending prosecution sanctions.
Chief Vigilance Commissioner stressed upon the officers to exhibit transparency and probity for the good of common man. He also undertook a review of Property Statements of public servants of all the departments.
CVC asked to regularly monitor all pending enquiry and prosecution sanction cases in time-bound and effective manner. He further asked to take all necessary measures to enhance awareness amongst people and encourage them to come forward for reporting every case of dishonest functioning by Public Servants.
