SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Chief Vigilance Commissioner P L Gupta today stressed for effective and quality investigation of the cases by the Vigilance Organization (VO) Kashmir.
He was chairing maiden review meeting of the organization. The meeting was attended by Vigilance Commissioner Gazanfar Hussain, Director Vigilance SJM Gilani, Secretary SVC T.K. Bhat, SSP Vigilance Organisation Kashmir Abdul Qayoom and other officers of the organisation.
A threadbare discussion was held on different matters related to vigilance cases and other matters probed by the organisation.
Gupta called for dedicated efforts for ensuring good governance and effective public grievance redressal system and said VO should expedite the case disposal process and follow-up with Government about pending prosecution sanctions.
He asked the officers to conduct surprise checks on a regular basis for developing strong monitoring mechanism. He also sought the status of pending cases in various districts of the State and directed for their effective follow up in a professional manner.
CVC asked to regularly monitor all pending enquiry and prosecution sanction cases in time-bound and effective manner. He further asked to take all necessary measures to enhance awareness amongst people and encourage them to come forward for reporting every case of dishonest functioning by public servants.
