Curtains down for another non-BJP Govt, Omar on K’taka crisis

SRINAGAR: Reacting to reports that 11 MLAs of JD(S)-Congress Government had submitted their resignation in the office of Karnataka Assembly Speaker K N Ramesh Kumar, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that it looks like curtains were down on another non-BJP Government.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the vice-president of National Conference (NC), posted ”Looks like it’s curtains for another non-BJP State Government. Can’t say this wasn’t expected. Most observers saw this coming a mile away.”

The 13-month-old JD(S)-Congress coalition Government in Karnataka was in tatters, as nine MPs of the Congress and three from the JD (S) met Governor Vajubhai Vala, after submitting their resignations to Assembly Secretary MK Vishalakshi, in the absence of Speaker Ramesh Kumar. (AGENCIES)
