JAMMU, Jan 18: The CSIR-IIIM Jammu today organised a curtain raiser programme to mark the celebrations of the 8th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2022 to be held between January 21 and 24 at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal.
Pertinently, the annual event, 8th edition of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2022, shall be organised jointly by the Science & Technology related ministries and departments of the Government of India, CSIR and Vijnana Bharati (Vibha).
As per a statement, the curtain raiser event at CSIR-IIIM Jammu was attended by scientists, educationists, technocrats, scholars, students, teachers and the members of the civil society.
On behalf of Dr D Srinivasa Reddy, Director, CSIR-IIIM, the acting Director Er Abdul Rahim welcomed the guests and introduced them to various activities of CSIR-IIIM, and assured full support in pursuing the scientific inquisitiveness.
Dr Dhiraj Vyas, Principal Scientist and Secretary, VIBHA (J&K) conducted the proceedings and informed about various activities that have been planned in connection with the IISF.
Prof Rajni Kant, Dean Research Studies and President VIBHA (J&K) who formalized the event, in his online message encouraged the students to think critically and enjoy science. He also asked the students to participate in the IISF-2022 in large numbers to fulfil the theme of the event.
Other important dignitaries who attended the event included Dr Zabeer Ahmed (Chief Scientist), Dr Asha Chaubey (Senior Principal Scientist), Dr Shashank Singh, Dr Tasaduq Abdullah and Dr Manu Khajuria besides others.
