Curfew continues in Sopore

Srinagar, June 25: Curfew continued for second consecutive day today in North Kashmir township of Sopore following killing of a youth in security forces firing three days ago.
Police and para-military Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were deployed in full strength in Sopore town today and they had blocked the roads with concertina wires and iron barricades.
Curfew was imposed in Sopore yesterday morning after a youth, Arshad Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Aziz Shah, resident of Naseem Bagh, was killed and three others were injured on June 23 in security forces firing on protesters.
The residents were protesting against the killing of a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Mehmood Bhai.
