JAMMU, Oct 7: Curbing the voice of people living in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) by Pakistan is a monster’s act as they are demanding freedom from it and SOS International condemns such acts.
This was stated by Rajiv Chuni, Chairman, SOS International during a press conference here today. He was flanked by other members of the organization including Dr Gurmeet Singh, JS Mangal, Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, OP Khajuria, Bhai Ram Singh and Sanjay Kohli.
“RSS and BJP are showing their concern for vacating PoK but they have never expressed their concern over the plights of PoK DPs, who were forcibly thrown out of PoK in 1947. RSS confined themselves as spokesperson of Valley Migrants, which is really a blot over its ideology”, he alleged.
He said that a unanimous resolution was passed in the Indian Parliament in 1994 saying that the PoK is an integral part of India and it should be vacated but till today nothing has been witnessed on ground.
“We were expecting that India after visualizing the episode of PoK will bring a drastic change in its foreign policy which deals with Pakistan but, speech of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sushma Swaraj left us in dismay”, Chuni added.
Chuni said that a memorandum of demands related to PoK DPs was submitted to Union Minister from Doda-Udhampur constituency, but he also did not pay any heed of forwarding the same to Prime Minister or Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for redressal.
He announced that SOS International is observing October 22 as black day and a rally will be organized on the occasion, which will held at Master Devi Chand Park, Rehari Colony, Jammu, in which delegates of SOS International residing throughout the country will participate.
While speaking, Dr Gurmeet Singh said that Kashmiri pandits, who migrated from Valley in 1989-1990, are getting all facilities from Central as well as State Government including special packages, but PoK DPs, who were subjected to genocide in 1947 are still ignored.
“We are not against that why KPs are getting facilities including packages, but we demand treatment to PoK DPs at par with KPs”, Dr Singh added.
