JAMMU, Dec 25: Disagreeing with the reports that displaced KPs did not cast their vote in recently concluded State Assembly elections, the BJP senior leader who was party candidate from Habbakadal Constituency in Srinagar, district of Kashmir Valley alleged that the voters of this constituency were reduced to just 5500 in number due to hazardous and cumbersome process of filling up the M Forms and rejecting the various M Forms without assigning any solid reason.
Analysing the response of voters of Habbakadal Constituency statistically, Kaul said that out of these voters about 2800 KP voters, constituting about 63%, exercised their right to franchise which is a healthy and encouraging percentage in any democratic set up’. He was, however, very critical of the administration and Election Commission for their indifference towards repeated representation to enrol the migrant voters and make the exercising of franchise simpler and practical.
Making it clear that Kashmiri Pandits enthusiastically participated and supported Bharatiya Janata Party during recently concluded elections in the Valley as well as in Jammu, Kaul said the community demonstrated their unflinching and unabated faith in Narendra Modi, the towering leader of the world today and 80% of votes polled by displaced Pandits were cast in favour of BJP.
Congratulating the winning candidates of BJP on behalf of the displaced community, living in exile for last 25 years, Kaul said that the decisive win of the candidates have changed the entire political discourse of the State in a right and positive direction. ‘It is for the first time in the political history of the State that BJP, the genuine nationalist face of India shall play a dominant role in shaping the fortunes of the State in the days to come.
He said Narendra Modi has made it clear that he is looking at corruption free and effective governing model in the country which shall flow to the State of J&K also. His vision of Development and Good Governance shall put the state on healthy trajectory.’ said Kaul.
