CUK campus should come up in Ganderbal: Altaf

SRINAGAR, Feb 17: Senior National Conference leader and MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf Ahmed has expressed concern over the reports that the Government is proposing to shift the Central University of Kashmir campus from Ganderbal to an alternate place.
In a statement issued here, Mian Altaf Ahmed said that the CUK campus should come up in Ganderbal only adding that any move to shift the campus from Ganderbal will be injustice to the people of Ganderbal and is unacceptable.
Altaf said that a strong resentment and anger is brewing among the people here against the reports that Government is mulling to shift CUK campus from its identified location in Ganderbal.
The  MLA asked the Government to clear its stand over the issue. “There are apprehensions among the people here about shifting of the CUK campus, adding that the Government should clear its position and come clean over the issue about the establishment of the Central University campus in Ganderbal,”  Altaf said.
Meanwhile, several delegations met the MLA Kangan during his tour to the constituency and apprised him about the apprehensions with regard to  shifting of CUK campus.
