Srinagar, Mar 2: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on Saturday accorded a warm send off to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdul Wahid on the completion of his term in office.
CUK Registrar, Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar, Dean School of Legal Studies, Prof. Me’raj-ud-Din Mir, Deans of various schools, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Heads of various departments, other faculty members and administrative staff were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering in the varsity, Prof. Me’raj-ud-Din described Prof. Abdul Wahid as a man of conviction, integrity and repute.
CUK Registrar, Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar, termed Prof. Abdul Wahid as a man of highest integrity with a great vision and dedication.
The outgoing Vice-Chancellor, thanked all for their support and cooperation in starting the University operations.
Prof Abdul Wahid said that setting up of a university is a difficult task than heading an already established institution of higher learning.
He said that during these years, all the employees extended their fullest support and cooperation in starting the academic programmes from the rented accommodations.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor distributed merit scholarship among 44 students who topped the Central Universities Common Entrance Test CUCET-2013 and the examination of post-graduate programmes conducted by the University.
