JAMMU, Aug 2: A grant of Rs 7.50 crore has been sanctioned in favour of the Central University of Jammu for establishing School of Education under Pandit Madan Mohan Maliviya National Mission for teachers and teaching by MHRD New Delhi.
This institution will explore international collaboration. The amount of Rs 7.50 crore included Rs 4.40 crore for infrastructure, two crore recurring grant per year for organizing various academic programmes for the benefits of teachers and teaching through School of Education. Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned for equipment.
Decision to sanction this fund was made in the high level meeting of MHRD, which was held on July 13, 2016. The School of Education will become a focal point in the entire State for raising the intellectual capacity of the teachers working at school level.
Recently Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima had personally taken the issue with the authorities concerned and managed an amount worth Rs 15 crore for the boundary wall of the campus. Furthermore, he has also effective took up the matter to provide better facilities to the students. It was all due to his initiatives that some time back Rs 50 crore was sanctioned for 100 seater boys and girls hostel.
