JAMMU, Sept 24: A high-profile meeting was conducted by MoS A. Narayan Swami in which Vice Chancellors of 30 universities across the country participated to discuss and review the Dr. Ambedkar International Center (DAIC) and make it operational by 1st October 2022 as per the road map.
Dr. Ambedkar Center of Excellence has been established in the Central University of Jammu under the aegis of Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The purpose of this center is to provide free coaching to the scheduled caste candidates who are aspiring for civil services examinations conducted by UPSC. Quality training and coaching shall be provided by CUJ to 100 SC aspirants so that they can pursue their dream and contribute to the development of the nation.
The scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is an endeavor of the Government of India to not only support and empower the scheduled caste students but also to enable them to be active contributors in the mainstream.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Dr. Yashwant Singh, Registrar and Prof. Rasal Singh, Nodal Officer, DAIC, CUJ participated in the meeting on behalf of CUJ.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain apprised the MoS that the CUJ has completed the first stage of admissions where 179 candidates appeared in the entrance examination and 60 candidates have registered. He also apprised the MoS that the recruitment of faculty is in process and the classes will commence in the first week of October. In order to facilitate the students across the state keeping the logistics in view, a premise is being hired in Jammu city for the conduct of the coaching classes.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction regarding the same.
Earlier Prof. Rasal Singh apprised,”Central University is the only university of the UT of J&K which has been chosen to conduct the scheme. The Central University of Jammu is committed to providing quality coaching to the aspirants and shall leave no stone unturned to make this coveted dream of the aspirants a reality. Along with coaching the spirit of a nation first will be inculcated”.
Dr. Neelika, coordinator DAIC, CUJ informed, “Since there were a few vacant slots, the entrance test shall be conducted again for those candidates who missed the chance earlier so that the maximum number of students could avail of the benefit. The entrance shall be conducted on 29th September 2022 and the classes shall commence from 1st October 2022 at premises in Jammu.”
