CUJ to introduce diploma in ancient Indian scripts

12th Academic Council meeting convened

JAMMU, Nov 22: Central University of Jammu (CUJ) conducted its 12th Academic Council meet under the Chairmanship of CUJ Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima, at its main campus, here today.
During the meeting, total 12 agenda items were placed before the Academic Council and after threadbare discussion the same were approved.
The Academic Council confirmed the minutes of the 11th meeting of Academic Council, held on 25th March 2019 and the “Action Taken Report” in pursuance of the decisions taken in the last AC. It also confirmed the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in having authorized adoption of the syllabi and courses of study of Master’s Degree Programmes in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council. To start a Master Degree Programme in Yoga in the Central University of Jammu, introduce four new programmes of study in the Department of Environmental Sciences, consider reservation of one Supernumerary seat for Industry sponsored candidates in various courses offered by the University, consider fee structure for Self Financing seats in different courses offered by the University w.e.f. the academic year 2019-20, consider the creation of regular Faculty Positions in Science Departments, consider the disciplinary case during Academic Council Meeting and to introduce a one-year diploma in ancient Indian Scripts: Brahmi and Sharda were the agenda items discussed and approved by the 12th Academic Council Meeting.
Prof Sushma Yadhav, Vice-Chancellor, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Haryana; Prof R N K Bamzai, former Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University & School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Prof Pulin B Nayak, former Chairman, Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and Dhananjay Singh, Director General-National HRD Network, were present as members. The Heads and Deans of teaching departments, Registrar Central University of Jammu Dr Ravi Kumar were also present in the Academic Council meeting.
