JAMMU, Apr 16: Jammu and Kashmir College Teachers Association (CTA) resented over the flawed list of placement of Assistant Professors, Librarians and Physical Training Instructors issued today by Higher Education Department (HED).
As per UGC guidelines and SRO-124 of Jammu and Kashmir Government, the Department Promotion Committee (DPC) ) whose meetings are supposed to be held regularly (after six months) that clears the placement/promotion cases of college teachers from the very due date of their placement/promotion with the full monetary benefits from the due date of placement/promotion.
“But it is for the first time in the history, the HED has ordered the placement of college teachers notionally from the due date of placement and monetarily from the date of DPC. Thus causing huge financial loss to college teachers as the department concerned deliberately delayed the same (DPC) and conducted it after the gap of three year,” said the Association.
“The order of placement has been issued at a time when college teachers are taking online classes during the lockdown because of COVID -19 pandemic and are not in a position to represent themselves,” they said.
Both presidents of CTA from Jammu and Kashmir province, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia and Prof Tariq Ashai urged upon the Secretary, HED to immediately withdraw this unjust order and issue the just one otherwise the college teachers shall be forced to go on pen down strike against this flawed order .
