JAMMU, Oct 31: College Teachers Association has resolved that the implementation of API scores in AGP 7000 and 8000 should be on pro rata basis from April 2017 onwards. Further, CTA resolved that guidelines and proforma for API on the basis of 2010 UGC recommendations be issued by Higher Education Department immediately and a committee by the Higher Education Department in this regard should be constituted immediately.
Resolutions to this effect were passed in the general body meeting of College Teachers Association, which was held under the chairmanship of CTA president Prof D S Manhas.
The meet also sought cooperation from Principals and IQAC members of the colleges for calculations of API Scores and timely submission of APRs’ of the college teachers. It was resolved that the vacant posts of Principals should be filled on permanent basis and seniority should be maintained while appointing incharge Principals. Appointment of various posts in Cluster University should also be made from among senior college teachers and no retired person from other institutions should be appointed in Cluster University Jammu, the CTA stressed.
The CTA assured the general body members that the Association will strive for implementation of API for AGP 7000 and 8000 on pro rata basis and issuance of guidelines for API and the matter will be taken on priority basis with the Higher Education Department. The president further assured the members that all other issues raised in the meeting by the members will be resolved in due course of time.
The meeting was attended by Dr Twinkle Suri and Dr M S Saini (vice presidents), Prof Hans Raj, Prof Rakesh Singh, Prof Narayan Dutt, Dr Jagjit Singh, Prof Sanjay Kotwal, Prof Mala Bhasin, Prof Revika Arora, Prof Saddiq, Prof Hardayal, Prof Sandhaya Bhardwaj, Prof Devinder Kour (Ex-members) and Counsellors from Jammu Division colleges.
