JAMMU, Dec 10: A meeting of zonal bodies of College Teachers Association, Jammu was held today with president, Dr Sanjay Verma in the chair, to discuss the issues regarding semester-1 and semester-111 examination, which have been slotted for Sundays and during winter vacations.
Since the vacations of the College teachers were curtailed because of the examinations, they need to be properly compensated and thus date sheets need to be modified, the meet observed, the meet observed and mention that CTA has also apprised the Jammu University authorities over the concern.
It shall not be out to mention here that the examination of BSc/BA/B.Com/BBA/BCA second semester for the session 2014-15 were held during the summer vacation and most of the college teachers had been deputed on the examination duty during this period. Till date their duty period has not been entered as the earned leave.
The CTA along with zonal bodies had met the Controller Examination in this regard and apprised him that the exam dates have been slotted during winter vacations and on Sunday and also on dated 20-12-15 and 27-12-15 on which NET examination is scheduled.
The Association demanded that the examinations during the Winter vacations, Sundays and on 20, 27-12-15 be postponed.
It was resolved during the meeting that if the examinations are not rescheduled within a week’s time, the Association will be forced to take the extreme step of boycotting the examination during winter vacations and on Sundays.
Members present in the meeting, included Prof M S Saini, Prof D S Manhas, Prof Rakesh Singh, Dr Vishal Sharma, Dr Ranjot, Prof Karan Singh, Prof Amit Sharma, Prof Abdul Kayoom, Dr Pankaj, Dr Anil Ganjoo, Dr Sunil Gupta and Prof Narayan Dutt.
