CSC given 5 days extension

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 19: The Government today granted one month extension to the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, which had been constituted for examining the creation of new administrative units in the State. However, since the extension would have retrospective effect from August 24, it would expire in next five days requiring another extension unless it submits the report in the remaining period, which was unlikely.
The CSC was constituted on July 24 vide GAD Order No. 1064. It had been asked to submit its report within a period of one month. Term of the CSC had expired on August 24.
Sources said the CSC has been granted one month extension from August 24, 2013. Surprisingly, the period of one month extension would expire in next five days.
The CSC will continued to be serviced by the General Administration Department.
Headed by Tara Chand, the CSC comprised Mohammad Akbar Lone, Ajay Sadhotra and Saifullah Mir, all Cabinet Ministers from NC, Sham Lal Sharma and Rigzin Jora, both Cabinet Ministers from Congress and GH Mir (DPN).
