CS reviews progress of USB Rail Link Project

SRINAGAR, Oct, 16: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas today chaired the 4th Apex Committee meeting  to review the progress of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) Project.
Principal Secretary PDD, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban and other senior officers of the State Government and Railway authorities were present in the meeting. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi participated via video conferencing.
Chief Secretary received brief from Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi and Deputy Commissioner, Ramban regarding the latest status of land acquisition in the Katra-Banihal Rail line section and 132 KV Transmission Line section from Katra to Reasi and Ramban to Sangaldan. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir briefed about the latest status regarding construction of 132 KV Transmission line from Budgam GSS to Budgam Railway Traction Sub-Station.
Chief Secretary asked DCs to expedite the disposal of few pending land acquisition cases. Forest Department was asked to expedite the issuance of orders in six forest land cases, as have been already cleared by the Forest Advisory Committee. In respect of two issues of forest land, it was directed that forest clearance papers being prepared by the PCCF be expedited.
Instructions were also given to the DCs of Ramban and Reasi and the Railway Authorities to address public interest issues on priority in some locations where work is being impeded by the people for want of grievance redressal.
